Springfield Lucky Horseshoes & i3 Broadband Join Forces for 2nd Annual Collins Strong Youth Baseball Classic to Honor the Legacy of Demeion Collins on Saturday, August 16th at Robin Roberts Stadium

Springfield, IL – July 30, 2025 – The Springfield Lucky Horseshoes, in partnership with i3 Broadband, are proud to announce the 2nd Annual Collins Strong Youth Classic, a heartfelt youth baseball event honoring the life and legacy of Demeion Collins. The event will take place on Saturday, August 16th, at Robin Roberts Stadium, bringing together young athletes and the community in celebration of Demeion’s enduring impact.

The Collins Strong Youth Classic was established in 2024 to memorialize Demeion Collins, a beloved father, partner, and dedicated i3 Broadband team member who passed away unexpectedly on February 2, 2024. Demeion was known for his unwavering commitment to Springfield’s youth, advocating for education, athletics, and business-community partnerships that helped shape a better future.

The Classic brings together local youth baseball teams for a day filled with competitive spirit, camaraderie, and remembrance. Families, community leaders, and supporters are encouraged to attend and participate in a day that reflects the values Demeion championed.

Jessica Shull added, “Knowing how much of an avid sports fan Demeion was, I am so appreciative of this event to honor his legacy.  His love of sports was made apparent even to those that didn’t know him by the overwhelming response we had last year and for that I am thankful.”
