The Springfield Lucky Horseshoes are excited to announce Assistant Coach Clint Jeffers will return to the team for the 2024 Prospect League Season.
Jeffers will be entering his fourth season on the coaching staff of Springfield’s Prospect League team and will eclipse the team’s record for most games all-time by a coach this upcoming season.
Jeffers, a Springfield, Il. native, previously had stints as the Head Coach of Robert Morris University and Roosevelt College and also played collegiate ball in Illinois’ Capital City at Springfield College and University of Illinois – Springfield.
“Its amazing to see what the franchise has accomplished in just two years. It’s such an honor and blessing to be invited back to continue helping the ‘Shoes grow,” remarked Jeffers
After facing off in opposite dugouts for the previous two seasons, Jeffers is looking forward to working with new skipper Brad Gyorkis who served in the same role in Quincy for the previous two seasons.
“You never truly stop learning and having a chance to work with Brad is a great opportunity. His experience and success in this league presents a tremendous growth opportunity for myself and the ‘Shoes.”
The Lucky Horseshoes clinched a Prospect League postseason appearance in consecutive years for the first time in franchise history in 2022 & 2023, and added its first postseason victory this past season on the road at Danville.
“Clint has been an asset to the club, both on the field and in the community. His local ties, relationships, and knowledge of the game have been a tremendous benefit for the Lucky Horseshoes and we’re excited we get to continue to grow alongside Jeffers,” said ‘Shoes Emperor of Engagement Andrew Miller.
The upcoming Lucky Horseshoes campaign will mark Springfield’s 16th season in the Prospect League and the 17th consecutive summer of baseball being played at Robin Roberts Stadium.
