The Springfield Lucky Horseshoes are thrilled to announce Assistant Coach Clint Jeffers will return to the ‘Shoes coaching staff for the 2023 Prospect League Season.

Jeffers, a Springfield, Illinois native, will be entering his third season on Springfield’s coaching staff, the second most in team history behind former ‘Shoes manager and 2022 assistant coach Pete Romero.

Prior to his coaching career, Jeffers played collegiate baseball at Springfield College and the University of Illinois – Springfield. Most recently, he served as head coach for the Robert Morris University and Roosevelt College programs from 2018 through 2021.

“I’m thrilled to have an opportunity to continue to build on what we started last year. The outlook for next year is exciting for everyone, from the players, coaches, and entire Springfield Community. We can’t wait to get back on the field and continue to grow in all facets, on and off the field,” said ‘Shoes Assistant Coach Clint Jeffers.

The ‘Shoes reached the Prospect League Playoffs following the 2022 season for the first time in six seasons, ending the longest playoff drought in franchise history.

“Clint is a fantastic baseball coach and an even better person.” said Lucky Horseshoes Emperor of Engagement Andrew Miller. “We’re excited to continue to see the impact he makes on our ‘Shoes players, both on and off the field.”

The Springfield Lucky Horseshoes will return to Robin Roberts Stadium and the Prospect League for the 15th season next summer.
