Dear Commissioner Manfred,
I hope this letter finds you well. First and foremost, congratulations on your recently announced tenure that will take place in 2029. The game of baseball has changed in a positive direction under your leadership and guidance, and we’re excited to see where the future of baseball and MLB goes.
I am writing to express the enthusiastic support of the baseball community in Springfield, IL, for the prospect of welcoming you to our great city and ballpark on May 12th, 2025, as we celebrate the centennial anniversary of Robin Roberts Stadium.
MLB’s first commissioner, Judge Kenesaw Mountain Landis, was in attendance on that day in 1925 to help open the stadium, and we feel that it would be very fitting to host you and your contingency 100 years later.
Robin Roberts Stadium, with its dedicated fan base and excellent facilities, has been a focal point in the community for nearly 100 years, bringing many of the region’s baseball fans together at the ballpark. We believe that bringing the current Commissioner of Major League Baseball game to our community would not only be a memorable experience for local fans but also contribute to the growth and appreciation of the sport in our region.
As the Commissioner, your leadership has been instrumental in shaping the future of baseball. We kindly request your consideration of attending the 100th anniversary of our great game here in Springfield, IL, at. We believe this would not only be a tremendous opportunity for our community but also align with MLB’s efforts to connect with fans at a grassroots level.
Thank you for your time and consideration. We look forward to the possibility of you and your contingency at Robin Roberts Stadium and further strengthening the bond between our community and the sport we all cherish.
We look forward to hearing back, Jamie Toole
