With only 145 Days until the 2024 Prospect League season opener, the Springfield Lucky Horseshoes are elated to announce its full 60-game schedule for the upcoming summer!

The ‘Shoes will be led by manager Brad Gyorkos, who is a newcomer to Springfield, however will be entering his third season in the Prospect League. In his previous two seasons in 2022 & 2023, the Culver-Stockton College head coach served as manager for the Quincy Gems where he secured two playoff appearances, including a Championship Series appearance in 2023.

In addition, after one season in the Eastern Conference, the Lucky Horseshoes will be returning to the Western Conference in a brand new four-team Northwest Division along with the Burlington Bees, Clinton LumberKings, and Illinois Valley Pistol Shrimp.

The fun at Robin Roberts Stadium starts prior to the Prospect League season with the Cubs vs. Cardinals Legends Classic III on Saturday, May 25th. With Brian Jordan and Tom Herr the first of the legends announced, this exciting exhibition baseball game matches up former stars from the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs as they return to the diamond for this exciting game. Tickets and VIP Meet & Greet passes that grant access to autographs and photos with all legends in attendance are on sale now.

The ‘Shoes open the season at home on Tuesday, May 28th against division foe Illinois Valley. The Pistol Shrimp alongside the LumberKings, Bees, Normal CornBelters, O’Fallon Hoots, Alton River Dragons, Thrillville Thrillbillies, Danville Dans and the Cape Catfish all make a visit to Springfield through the end of June as the Lucky Horseshoes host 15 games in the season’s first month.

On June 6th & 7th, the ‘Shoes travel to Lafayette to face the Aviators on the road for the first time in the Lucky Horseshoes Era.

Springfield opens up the month of July with four consecutive home games from July 2nd through 5th including a Red, White, & ‘Shoes celebration on July 3rd & July 4th with both games against the Normal CornBelters.

The Jackson Rockabilly’s make their lone trip to Springfield for games on July 19th & July 20th with the ‘Shoes returning the favor with games at Jackson on July 10th & 11th.

In total, the Lucky Horseshoes will face off against 11 of the other 17 Prospect League teams with home and away dates scheduled with all those teams, with the exception of the Lafayette Aviators who do not make a trip to the Capital City in 2024.

With 15 home games on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, the upcoming season will have loads of opportunities for fun summer nights at Robin Roberts Stadium cheering on the ‘Shoes!

The Prospect League regular season concludes on July 31st at home against Alton with the Playoffs beginning on August 1st. The ‘Shoes will be vying for their third consecutive Prospect League Playoff appearance in the 2024 season.
