The Springfield Lucky Horseshoes in conjunction with i3 Broadband will be hosting the Inaugural Collins Strong Youth Classic on Saturday, June 22nd. The event will honor the late Demeion Collins who served as General Manager for i3 Broadband in the Springfield community and Central Illinois.
Ten local youth teams will be invited to participate which will see a total of five games played at Robin Roberts Stadium throughout the day on June 22nd. These teams will be invited to participate at no cost to them, with numerous fundraising initiatives benefiting The Collins Children’s Education Fund.
i3 Broadband Community Engagement Specialist Janell Woolard is excited for the opportunity to honor their late co-worker in this special event.
“Demeion had a strong passion for his community, education and sporting opportunities for the youth.” Woolard adds, “In his work, he was diligent in finding ways to create lasting impacts within the community through business-to-business opportunities supporting endeavors that made a brighter future for everyone.”
‘Shoes Chief Storyteller Jamie Toole is thrilled to host this impactful event and raise money for a local non-profit.

A $5 donation to The Collins Children’s Education Fund will be collected upon entry for all spectators. Tickets are available for purchase now.

Following the event will be a check presentation for all the funds raised throughout the day.
