The Springfield Lucky Horseshoes are preparing for another exciting summer at Robin Roberts Stadium filled with a star-studded entertainment lineup!
The party starts on Opening Night, May 31st, as the ‘Shoes open up the season with a magnet schedule giveaway presented by Mike Williams Plumbing and a special appearance from WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff. June 1st is First Responders Night when all police, firefighters, and paramedics receive free admission. June 3rd is the first of five fireworks shows throughout the 2023 campaign presented by CEFCU. ‘Shoes mascot Horace will be celebrating his birthday on June 4th with his friends, including pal Fredbird from the St. Louis Cardinals who will be at Robin Roberts Stadium. June 5th will be 217 Night where every ticket in the ballpark will be $2.17 Other exciting nights include a T-shirt giveaway presented by Primo Designs on June 8th and Knights Action Park passes on June 10th. Tyler’s Amazing Balancing Act will also be in attendance on June 10th balancing absolutely anything and everything on his face!
Fiesta Night takes place on June 15th before Military Appreciation Night on June 16th when any active or retired military and family receive free admission to the ‘Shoes game that night. The season’s second fireworks show, presented by CEFCU, will take place following Saving Second Base on June 17th when the ‘Shoes will wear specialty breast cancer awareness jerseys that fans will have the opportunity to purchase right off the players backs courtesy of Two Men & a Truck. Belly Buster Night takes place on June 19th which includes select all you can eat food and non-alcoholic drinks that are included with every ticket purchase. The ‘Shoes will be celebrating all local charities for non-profit palooza on June 21st before Pride Night on June 22nd, presented by CORAL. The Lucky Horseshoes will attempt to break the world record for the largest mini-water blaster battle on June 25th courtesy of Mosquito Joes.
On June 30th, the Lucky Horseshoes will pay homage to the 25th anniversary of the 1998 Frontier League Champion Springfield Capitals on Turn Back the Clock Night when the ‘Shoes wear complete retro uniforms that fans can bid on, and purchase.
Pirate & Princess Night takes place on July 2nd, immediately preceding the Red, White, and ‘Shoes celebrations complete with postgame fireworks presented by CEFCU on both July 3rd & 4th. The ‘Shoes will wear special Military Jerseys on that July 4th game that can be bid on, and purchased by fans throughout the game. July 11th is Bar Wars and July 12th is Service Club night as the ‘Shoes recognize the local service clubs throughout the Capital City. July 14th features a rally towel giveaway courtesy of Memorial Care.
On July 15th, indulge in the Brews & Baseball beerfest after your receive a koozie courtesy of Calhoun’s at the entry gates. Camp Day, featuring a special 12 PM start time, takes place on July 17th. Art in the Park is on July 19th and Educator Appreciation Night where all educators receive free admission will be held on July 20th, presented by Horace Mann.
The Battle of the Sexes Challenge presented by CEFCU returns for a second consecutive year on Friday, July 21st at 6:30 PM. The Lucky Horseshoes will take on an all-star roster of fast-pitch softball players, highlighted by two-time USA Olympic Silver Medalist and NCAA record holder for wins, Monica Abbott, in this fun, exhibition game.
The fifth and final fireworks show of the season presented by CEFCU will launch postgame on July 22.
Ray Lankford makes his return to the home dugout when the former Springfield Cardinal and 14-year MLB veteran will guest manage the Lucky Horseshoes on July 23rd. Tail-Waggin Tuesday, where dogs get in free with a paid adult, and Dance Party Night featuring a special guest to be announced is July 25th. The week wraps up with appearances from Birdzerk and Zooperstars on July 27th & 28th respectively. The ‘Shoes will celebrate the North End neighborhood of Springfield with N.E.W.T Night on July 27th. The regular season wraps up with What Would Have Been Night on August 3rd when the ‘Shoes unveil what the team’s name might have been if it wasn’t the Lucky Horseshoes with mystery jerseys!
Thirsty Thursdays are back with special priced drinks on all seven Thursday Lucky Horseshoes games throughout the upcoming campaign.
Each Sunday is Pony ‘Shoes Kids Club day. The package, available for ‘Shoes fans ages 12 & under, includes a game ticket to Opening Night and each Sunday home game, an exclusive T-Shirt, 10% off all purchases at the ‘Shoe Box team store, the opportunity to run the bases each Sunday, and an official membership card and special sticker.
Each Wednesday is Silver ‘Shoes Club day. With the purchase of this package, fans 60 & over receive a ticket to every Wednesday home ‘Shoes game, an exclusive T-Shirt, a complimentary hot dog & soda at each Wednesday home game, 10% off at the team store, an official membership card, and a baseball bingo card with prizes for winners each Wednesday!
